Waiting

Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting to hear.
What's taking so long?
I know it takes time.
But still.
I am all abuzz with anticipation.
Will they?
Won't they?
Someone else decides what happens next.
All I can do is wait.
Others' phones ring
Yet I still wait.
Right now I exist in the realm of possibilities
But soon it will be decided.
No more hanging in uncertain suspense.
No more
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting

  2. It's hard to live in uncertainty. My husband used to always say, "Be prepared for the worst, and hope for the best." Good luck.

  4. The tone of your poem really emphasized the anticipation and nerves you must feel right now waiting for such important news. Best of luck to you! Great poem!
