Gone

Sophie's gone.

An endless loop playing in my head
over and over and over.

Sophie's gone.

So many thoughts,
so many feelings,
so many tears.

But today this is all I can write.

Sophie's gone.

  1. So sorry for your loss. Our Max is 16 and not doing very good, but still trying to prance around. Lossing a pet it never easy, but I'm sure you have many good memories of the joy that he filled you with during the last 15 years. Hugs

  3. I'm so sorry. In that photo, she looks like she's about to take off and run some zoomies! So hard to lose our elderly pets.

    1. Thank you, Elisabeth. In her younger days, that is exactly what she liked to do.

  4. Sophie is beautiful - I have a fifteen-year-old dachshund that I know cannot remain with us much longer. Sophie undoubtedly knew how well-loved she was. Do write more about her when you can. Healing to you and yours.

  5. So sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what it feels like. I have two of my own dogs who are eight years old. You should do a special blanket or something with her photo. What great memories you have!

    1. Thank you, Anna Maria. I was expecting it, and yet, when it happened, it seemed so unexpected. I'm just glad I was there with her and that she was at home.
